I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables,
that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time,
but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it;
because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Habakkuk 2:1-4
Habakkuk doesn’t start with answers—he starts by climbing the watchtower, lifting himself high enough to see clearly, because Focus often requires distance from the noise below. God’s response isn’t rushed; it’s written, reminding us that vision is meant to be held, revisited, and trusted over time. To be High And Lifted Up here is not about elevation for ego, but positioning for clarity, especially when the promise feels delayed. For Black people and our communities, this text speaks loudly: waiting is not weakness, and patience is not surrender—it’s preparation for purpose. The vision may tarry, but it is never late, and faith means keeping your Focus steady while your hands stay ready to move. This word reaches every generation—elders steady on the wall, Millennials holding tension, Gen Z running with hope—calling us to trust what God has spoken. As the year closes, stay lifted in your Focus, because the just still live by faith, and faith always moves us forward.
