And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 4:8-11
Revelation 4:8–11 doesn’t start with striving—it starts with a God already High And Lifted Up, already worthy before anyone does a thing. The creatures keep saying “Holy” not because God needs reminding, but because Focus has to be practiced when life keeps shouting for your attention. The elders throw their crowns down, which means Focus sometimes looks like releasing what you earned so you can receive what was promised. For Black people especially, this is a holy interruption: we are not called to exhaust ourselves proving value when heaven has already named our worth. When your Focus stays on the throne, your dreams stop shrinking to survival and start stretching toward legacy. This vision meets every generation right where they are, reminding us that worship isn’t escape—it’s fuel. As the year closes, lift your eyes, loosen your grip, and move forward knowing that what is high in heaven can be worked out in your hands on earth.
