And then, as they stood with folded wings, there was a voice from above the dome over their heads. Above the dome there was something that looked like a throne, sky-blue like a sapphire, with a humanlike figure towering above the throne. From what I could see, from the waist up he looked like burnished bronze and from the waist down like a blazing fire. Brightness everywhere! The way a rainbow springs out of the sky on a rainy day—that’s what it was like. It turned out to be the Glory of God!

Ezekiel 1:25-28 (MSG)

Ezekiel 1:25–28 in The Message shows us that when the noise settles, a voice rises from above, reminding us that focus begins when we learn what to look toward and not just what to look through. God appears High And Lifted Up, not distant but defining, teaching us that clarity comes when our attention is anchored in glory rather than chaos. Ezekiel doesn’t chase the fire, the creatures, or the movement—he locks in on the presence, because Focus is about discernment, not distraction. For Black people and our communities, this moment matters: it tells us that survival is not the ceiling—vision is, and God is inviting us higher. When you Focus on what is lifted, your hands gain confidence to build what has been promised, even when the ground beneath you has been shaking. This word reaches every generation—elders steady, Millennials intentional, Gen Z bold—calling us to look up, stay grounded, and move forward with purpose. As this year closes, keep your eyes trained upward, because what God reveals from the throne is meant to be carried into everyday life.
