When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, begging him to touch him and heal him. So Jesus led him, as his sighted guide, outside the village. He placed his saliva on the man’s eyes and covered them with his hands. Then he asked him, “Now do you see anything?” “Yes,” he said. “My sight is coming back! I’m beginning to see people, but they look like trees—walking trees.” Jesus put his hands over the man’s eyes a second time and made him look up. The man opened his eyes wide and he could see everything perfectly. His eyesight was completely restored!
Mark 8:22-25 (TPT)
Vision can come blurry before it comes bold, and that doesn’t mean God missed you. Mark 8:22–25 (The Passion Translation) shows Jesus healing in stages, exposing blind spots without condemning the process. Knowing Your Blindspots means admitting when clarity hasn’t fully landed yet—and staying present for the second touch. Seeing from a High And Lifted Up place means allowing God to refine your sight until truth replaces distortion. For Black people shaped by survival, systems, and struggle, this is grace: God is not rushing our healing or dismissing our pace. Partial vision is not failure; it is evidence that transformation is underway. This word invites every generation to stay open, stay honest, and trust that clearer sight is still coming.
