So don’t waste your time on a scoffer; all you’ll get for your pains is abuse. But if you correct those who care about life, that’s different—they’ll love you for it!
Proverbs 9:8 (MSG)
Guard your voice—everything doesn’t need your wisdom. Proverbs 23:9 (KJV) exposes a blindspot we don’t like to admit: not every listener is ready, willing, or able to receive truth. Knowing Your Blindspots means recognizing when speaking is more about ego than impact. Wisdom that stays High And Lifted Up learns the power of restraint and the strength of discernment. In our shared experience, especially as the community of Black people, this is maturity—choosing peace over proving a point and purpose over pointless exchange. When focus sharpens, energy stops leaking and starts landing where it can actually grow fruit. Let this word train every generation to protect their insight, honor their calling, and move with elevated clarity.
