And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
John 9:1-7
As Jesus passed by and saw the man blind from birth, He revealed that the man’s condition was not a punishment but an opportunity for God’s work to be displayed. Sometimes the things we wish away are the very places where God intends to show us His power. When we pray, “Lord, I Want To See,” we are asking for the vision to look beyond limitation and recognize where His purpose is already forming in the dark. In that revelation lies Hidden Manna—the quiet strength that grows when we trust His process, even when we don’t yet see the outcome. The man’s healing began not when his eyes opened, but when he obeyed—when he went and washed in faith. Seeing, then, is often the result of simple steps taken in obedience, one faithful act at a time. Today, ask God to open your eyes to the purpose in your process, and walk forward trusting that His hidden work will soon become sight.
