Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
I John 3:2
Listen, community: who you are becoming is bigger than what anyone has seen so far. I John 3:2 (KJV) reminds us that we are already God’s children, yet the full picture of who we will be has not completely appeared. That tension is not confusion; it is an invitation. To Transcend is to live faithfully between who you have been and who God is still revealing. There is a future High And Lifted Up where identity is no longer limited by small expectations or narrow labels. For Black people and our shared story of endurance and creativity, this promise speaks loudly—our becoming is still unfolding, and our brilliance is still rising. Keep walking, keep building, keep believing, because the next version of you is already being shaped by the glory you are learning to behold.
