For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
II Corinthians 5:1-3
What you see is not all there is. Second Corinthians 5:1–3 (KJV) reminds us that when this earthly house feels fragile, there is a building of God not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Knowing Your Blindspots means admitting how easily we overvalue what is temporary and undervalue what is eternal. Groaning is not weakness; it is longing for something greater than what this moment can hold. There is a reality High And Lifted Up that outlasts every structure we fear losing. For Black people who have watched institutions fail yet kept faith alive, this promise steadies the soul and stretches the vision. Let every generation build boldly on earth while anchoring hope in heaven, confident that what God has prepared cannot be shaken.
