Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14
Pressing is not panic; pressing is purpose. Philippians 3:12–14 (KJV) shows Paul refusing to live trapped by yesterday while reaching for what lies ahead. To Transcend is to let go of what shaped you without allowing it to shackle you. There is a call High And Lifted Up that pulls you forward, beyond regret, beyond applause, beyond limitation. For Black people whose past includes both triumph and trauma, this text declares that history informs you but does not imprison you. Forgetting what is behind does not erase legacy; it releases momentum. Let every generation stretch toward the mark, build with bold hands, and pursue the prize with unwavering focus.
