DAILY MEDITATION

And the angel who was speaking with me came back and awakened me, like a man who is awakened out of his sleep. He said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I see, and behold, a [a]lampstand all of gold, with its bowl [for oil] on the top of it and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it. And there are two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side [supplying it continuously with oil].” So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?” Then the angel who was speaking with me answered me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” Then he said to me, “This [continuous supply of oil] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel [prince of Judah], saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol],’ says the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4:1-6

Life and life’s challenges can be extremely overwhelming and appear impossible to manage and navigate. The chaos and confusion that exist as result of life and life’s challenges only adds to the frustration of trying to LIVE in the promises of God for your life. The overwhelming nature of life and life’s challenges is only manageable, navigable as we Live By The Spirit. When God created what we know as heaven and earth, His Spirit brooded, hovered over the deep, the chaos, confusion, and darkness that existed in order to bring it into order and to His will. It is through the Spirt that God made sense, managed, and navigated the creation of what should be as willed and declared by Him, despite and in spite of the chaos, confusion and darkness. It is the model of God’s Spirit brooding over the deep of life that we too must utilize in order to overcome. At the second building of the temple, Zerubbabel felt overwhelmed with the task of establishing what God had willed to be in the midst of the rubble of destruction by others and themselves. Not sure of what to do, God speaks to Him and shows Him by the Spirit that He is able to lead and guide him through the chaos and confusion to His will. There is nothing too hard or impossible for God, His Word is true and real in our lives as a result He gives to us the gift of His Spirit to enable and empower us to accomplish what He wills. It is not by might, nor power, but by His Spirit saith the Lord. Live By The Spirit and what you cannot achieve by your own means or even makes sense of is achievable, it is done, accomplished by the Spirit. Do not allow the chaos and confusion to frustrate you so that you do not engage life and life’s challenges, LIVE and allow the Spirit to do what God has intended His will for you to LIVE, a well-lived and joy filled life, the life and life and life snorer abundantly promised!
