Sermon Title: Core Value: Grow

Texts: Proverbs 4:7, Romans 12:1–2, 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)Theme: Hidden Manna

🌟 Main Message:

Spiritual growth is not automatic—it’s intentional.God calls us to mature in wisdom, mindset, and skill. Growth is a core value that leads us from experience to transformation to fruitfulness.

💡 What Is a Core Value?

A core value is a belief so central it shapes your choices and character. Growth as a core value means we never stop learning, changing, and becoming who God created us to be.

🛤️ 1. ENCOUNTER GOD (Proverbs 4:7)

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom...”

🧭 What It Means:

Wisdom is more than knowledge—it’s the ability to live well, in alignment with God’s truth. To grow, we must encounter God through the pursuit of wisdom passed down through Scripture and spiritual tradition.

💡 For Christians:

  • Growth starts with Godly wisdom, not worldly opinions.

  • Don’t just seek success—seek understanding.

💬 For Everyone:

  • You don’t need all the answers, but start by asking the right questions.

  • Wisdom is available to anyone willing to listen and learn.

🛠 Practical Application:

  • Ask God for wisdom daily: “Lord, help me see clearly and choose wisely.”

  • Read one verse of Proverbs each day and reflect on how it applies to your life.

🔄 2. ENGAGE GOD (Romans 12:1–2)

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind...”

🧭 What It Means:

Growth requires action. We don’t just grow by listening; we grow by presenting ourselves to God, resisting the world’s mold, and allowing God to reshape our thinking.

💡 For Christians:

  • Growth means surrender—your life becomes the offering.

  • Transformation happens as your mindset aligns with God's will.

💬 For Everyone:

  • Don’t let the world define you. Choose who you're becoming.

  • Renewal starts with a decision to live with purpose and direction.

🛠 Practical Application:

  • Spend 10 minutes daily in prayer or journaling about what’s shaping your mind.

  • Replace one unhelpful habit with a life-giving spiritual practice this week.

🛠️ 3. EXPERIENCE GOD (2 Timothy 2:15)

“Study to shew thyself approved... rightly dividing the word of truth.”

🧭 What It Means:

Spiritual growth involves becoming proficient—skilled and disciplined. God wants you to be equipped, not embarrassed, when it comes to handling truth and helping others find their way.

💡 For Christians:

  • Don’t just consume Scripture—master it.

  • Be a “workman” in the Word who can guide others through confusion and doubt.

💬 For Everyone:

  • Study brings confidence. Even if you’re new to faith, you can learn the truth for yourself.

  • You don’t have to stay stuck—skill builds strength.

🛠 Practical Application:

  • Join a Bible study, or pick a topic (like forgiveness or identity) and study what Scripture says.

  • Practice explaining a biblical truth in your own words—this builds clarity and confidence.

🌳 Bonus Insight:

Like a tree, spiritual growth happens in stages:

  • Encounter the seed (wisdom),

  • Engage the soil (renewal of the mind),

  • Experience the fruit (maturity and skill).

Hidden Manna is God’s growth food for your soul—it nourishes you daily in unseen, powerful ways.

 Final Encouragement:

Growth is your assignment.Whether you're just starting or deepening your faith walk:

  • Encounter God by seeking wisdom,

  • Engage God by surrendering your thoughts,

  • Experience God by developing your skills in truth.

📖 You don’t grow by accident. You grow on purpose—with God.
