Sermon Title: Core Value: Give
Texts: 2 Samuel 24:24, Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6–8 (KJV)Theme: Hidden Manna
🧭 Main Message:
Giving is not just charity—it’s character. It reveals our priorities, deepens our faith, and positions us to receive and share God's provision. Giving is a core value that keeps the heart open to worship, trust, and expectation.
💡 What’s a Core Value?
A core value is something so essential that it guides every choice. Giving is a heart posture—a way of saying “God matters” and “Others matter.” It shapes how we live and love.
🔥 1. YOUR GIVING IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP (2 Samuel 24:24)
“I will not offer... that which doth cost me nothing.”
🧭 What It Means:
When David refused to give God something that cost him nothing, he showed that true worship requires sacrifice. Real giving is meaningful—it should move your heart.
💡 For Christians:
Giving honors God when it’s intentional and personal.
Don't treat giving as an afterthought—it’s an offering of love and reverence.
💬 For Everyone:
Giving—of time, resources, or care—shows what really matters to you.
You can worship without music; giving is a form of active reverence.
🛠 Practical Application:
Don’t ask: “How little can I give?” Ask: “What does generosity look like for me right now?”
Make giving a regular part of your spiritual rhythm—weekly, monthly, or whenever you're blessed.
🌱 2. YOUR GIVING IS AN ACT OF FAITH (Malachi 3:10)
“Prove me now... if I will not open the windows of heaven...”
🧭 What It Means:
God invites His people to trust Him by giving. When you give—even when it's not easy—you show faith that God will take care of your needs.
💡 For Christians:
Tithing isn’t just obedience—it’s an expression of faith that God is your source.
God doesn’t need your money—He desires your trust.
💬 For Everyone:
Giving is risky. But it's also a faith exercise that stretches your trust muscles.
You don't have to have a lot to give. God sees the heart behind it.
🛠 Practical Application:
Give from where you are. Set aside a “faith offering” even if it’s small—it’s the heart, not the amount.
Journal or pray each time you give: “God, I trust You to provide.”
🌈 3. YOUR GIVING IS AN ACT OF EXPECTATION (2 Corinthians 9:6–8)
“He which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully…”
🧭 What It Means:
Giving sets things in motion. It’s like planting seeds—you give, expecting that God will multiply your resources, your impact, and your joy.
💡 For Christians:
Giving is an invitation to partner with God’s abundance.
Expect God to respond—not just materially, but through grace, opportunity, and overflow.
💬 For Everyone:
When you give freely, you break the fear of scarcity.
What you sow—kindness, money, time—can come back in ways you didn’t expect.
🛠 Practical Application:
Write out one area where you’re praying for a return (peace, finances, purpose), then sow into it through giving.
Practice “cheerful giving”: smile when you give, speak gratitude over it, and expect God to move.
🌾 Bonus Insight:
Like seeds in the soil, what you give today grows tomorrow. Giving is Hidden Manna—it often starts in private but produces public fruit.
✨ Final Encouragement:
Giving isn’t about losing—it’s about living. It’s about trusting God, honoring His presence, and expecting His provision. Make giving a core value—not just a habit, but a holy offering.
You were created to give generously, live abundantly, and serve joyfully.
