Series: REVIVAL
“CLEAR THE WAY” – PT II
Isaiah 57:14-19 (MSG)
Year Theme: HIGH AND LIFTED UP
BIG IDEA (For Everyone)
Revival begins when we stop blocking what God is trying to restore.
God is not trying to destroy people—God is trying to:
revive
heal
comfort
restore
and give new life
But first, the road has to be cleared.
1. RECEIVE FORGIVENESS (vv.14-16)
What’s Happening
God tells the people to clear the way because He wants to revive those who are:
low in spirit
crushed
exhausted
God’s holiness does not push broken people away—it reaches toward them.
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
You cannot heal while rejecting grace.
Practical Application
Christian: Stop carrying guilt God is willing to forgive.
Non-Christian: Everybody needs a fresh start sometimes.
Gen Z / Millennials: Don’t let mistakes become your permanent identity.
Professionals: Shame can quietly sabotage confidence and growth.
Families: Forgiveness creates room for healthier relationships.
Black Community Word: We come from people who survived trauma, oppression, and rejection—yet God still calls us worthy of restoration and renewal.
This Week: Release one burden, regret, or shame you’ve been holding onto.
2. RECEIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET IT RIGHT (vv.17-18)
What’s Happening
Israel was stubborn and resistant, yet God still chose to:
heal them
lead them
comfort them
God gives people another chance.
Not because wrongdoing doesn’t matter—but because restoration matters too.
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
Failure does not have to be your final chapter.
Practical Application
Christian: Accept God’s correction without giving up on yourself.
Non-Christian: Growth happens when people learn from mistakes instead of hiding from them.
Gen Z Word: One bad season does not cancel your future.
Professionals: Great leaders learn, adjust, and grow.
Families: Healthy relationships require grace and accountability.
Black Community Word: Our communities deserve opportunities to heal, rebuild, and thrive—not just be defined by struggle.
This Week: Take one intentional step toward doing something better than before.
3. RECEIVE NEW LIFE (v.19)
What’s Happening
God promises:
peace
healing
restoration
a “new language of praise”
Revival produces new life.
The Hebrew word šālôm means more than peace:
wholeness
wellness
stability
healing
flourishing
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
God wants more for you than survival—He wants wholeness.
Practical Application
Christian: Live like healing and peace are possible.
Non-Christian: A transformed life starts with transformed thinking.
Gen Z Word: Stop settling for chaos as your normal.
Professionals: Success means little without peace and wellness.
Families: Build homes where healing and joy can grow.
Black Community Word: Revival means we move beyond merely surviving into thriving, building, healing, and living fully.
This Week: Create space for peace—through prayer, reflection, rest, therapy, healthy boundaries, or reconnection.
BIG PICTURE TRUTH
Revival is not just emotional excitement.
It is:
receiving forgiveness
embracing growth
and stepping into new life
Because God’s goal is not condemnation—it’s restoration.
