DAILY MEDITATION

Jesus was curt: “Are you ready to rough it? We’re not staying in the best inns, you know.” Jesus said to another, “Follow me.” He said, “Certainly, but first excuse me for a couple of days, please. I have to make arrangements for my father’s funeral.” Jesus refused. “First things first. Your business is life, not death. And life is urgent: Announce God’s kingdom!” Then another said, “I’m ready to follow you, Master, but first excuse me while I get things straightened out at home.” Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.”

Luke 9:58-62 (The Message)

The journey of building out of your well-lived and joy filled life is cluttered with opportunities to advance in your promise of God and it is up to you to seize those opportunities, leveraging them for your promise. To seize the day or seize opportunities one must be in the right position and in the right timing. To be in the right position and timing requires that one is sensitive to not only the end result of life and life more abundantly but also to God and what He is up to in your space. Often as we seek to advance in our promises we can get in the way. It is Paul who said every time I want to do the right thing I wind up doing the wrong as a direct result of my flesh. There is a battle between our flesh, the reality of our experience, and the Spirit, the what should be as promised by God. In order to win the battle of flesh and Spirit, the Spirit must be built up. To build your Spirit you must bring into subject the flesh, making your personal interests, desires, and actions low maintenance, making high maintenance of your life the vision, your promise for your life and life more abundantly. Exert your energy in the positive direction of building out the vision what should be and release your self from that which only satisfies and feeds your flesh, the temporal. As you subject your flesh you build the Spirit and thus build forward the things that build out your well-lived and joy filled life, transforming your experiences to that which yields the promises of God. Occupy Your Promise by exercising Transformational Leadership that denies, sacrifices, you and your flesh and exalts the promise, vision of God building forth the life and life more abudnnalty promised!
