DAILY MEDITATION

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:18-22

As we are at the dawn of the celebration of Christmas, Advent; the coming of Christ we should be in the height of celebration for our deliverance is at hand. It matters not what the actual day of Christ’s birth or even exactly where, what does matter is our believing that with Christ comes deliverance. Deliverance is salvation; to be saved from whatever condition is before you to that which should be, the life and life more abundantly promised. Deliverance is not simply from people, places, and things, but instead Christ came that we would be delivered to eternal life and that life is not determined by what is, but instead what is promised. We can receive deliverance simply or is can be life transforming that allows us to live about reality to the promises of God, Living in The Spirit. God did not do all the miraculous work; the virgin birth, choosing unlikely carriers, rearranging nature and natural phenomena, pricking the hearts of even the unlikely to birth Christ for it to be seen only as a simple deliverance. Instead Christ has come that we would be saved, delivered from any and all things that would prevent our transformation into the life and life more abundantly promised. I suggest to you as we celebrate the coming of Christ that we see His salvation, His deliverance as one that saves us from reality to promise, from rightness to righteousness, and from religion to relationship. Let’s Go In to the total deliverance, salvation of Christ that transforms our lives beyond particular circumstances to the eternal life and life more abundantly promised!
