“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:14-15 (NIV)

Letting go of our past and that which is preventing us from pressing forward into what can and should be for our lives is easier said than done, however, it can and must be done. We have become accustomed, if not comfortable with the way things are, even if we know they are no good for us and prying ourselves away from them is a task that is both difficult and painful. However, we must focus on what can and should be for our lives and make a choice, for we always have options, thus, we can choose to transform for the good or remain the same, the choice for transformation may require more than we want to give but it will lead to our good. As we make our choices over the journey of living in that choice we will discover whether or not the choice gets us to our desired expectation or if it creates the worst atmosphere for us; choices eventually reveal destinations. The choice you make will reveal itself and if it does not get you to where you are expecting, change course, you have the right, privilege given to us by the blood of Jesus, and need not feel bad.
