February 19
For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: the preserveth the souls of his saints;
he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous,
and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous;
and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Psalm 97:12
Joy is not denial; it is disciplined focus. Psalm 97:12 (KJV) calls the righteous to rejoice and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness, reminding us that gratitude corrects blindspots formed by frustration. Knowing Your Blindspots means admitting how easily disappointment can dim what God has already done. When your vision rises toward what is High And Lifted Up, perspective shifts, and praise becomes protest against despair. For Black people whose history includes both heartbreak and holy endurance, rejoicing is not naïve—it is defiant faith. Gratitude sharpens sight and steadies hands for the work still ahead. Let every generation remember who God is, rejoice on purpose, and move forward with clear eyes and courageous hope.
