But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

I Samuel 16:7

Some of the most sacred work happens where nobody can see it. In I Samuel 16:7 (KJV), God reminds Samuel that people look at outward appearance, “but the LORD looketh on the heart,” revealing that Holy Ground begins within before it becomes visible around us. Living High And Lifted Up means sitting with the vision long enough for your character to mature alongside your calling. Our Black communities flourish when we refuse standards that judge our worth by appearance, status, credentials, or somebody else’s definition of success, and instead cultivate the gifts and greatness already within us. Dream Big, because what others overlook may be exactly what God intends to develop. Decide To Become inwardly strong enough to carry what you outwardly desire. Demonstrate Your Power by developing your character, honoring your gifts, and recognizing greatness in people others fail to see.
