Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3
Everybody is growing into something, but the question is: what are your roots feeding on? Psalm 1 declares that those who delight in God's Word and meditate on it day and night become like trees planted by rivers of water, reminding us that Encountering The Holy is not a passing emotional experience but a daily practice that nourishes the soul and strengthens the spirit. What is High and Lifted Up is a life with deep roots, because storms may shake your branches, but they cannot uproot a person whose life is anchored in God's presence. For a people whose roots run deep through faith, perseverance, family, and the enduring strength of the Black Church, this passage reminds us that our greatest growth has always come from remaining connected to the Source that never runs dry. Dream Big, because healthy roots produce abundant fruit, and God desires your life to flourish in ways that bless your family, your community, and generations yet unborn. Decide To Become someone who intentionally feeds your mind with truth, your heart with worship, and your spirit with God's presence, knowing that what you consistently cultivate is what you will ultimately become. Demonstrate Your Power by standing firm when others are shaken, bearing fruit when others are discouraged, and offering hope where others see despair, because a life planted by God's living water will always grow High and Lifted Up.
