Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
I John 2:15-17
What happens when a dream is loud but the discipline is quiet? Proverbs 13:4 (The Passion Translation) reminds us that desire alone starves, but Focused effort feeds the soul with abundance. On this day, we honor Dr. King, we remember that dreams don’t survive on vision alone—they require sustained Focus and faithful work. To live High And Lifted Up is to keep your eyes on the promise while committing your hands to the process. For Black people and our communities, this is a sacred truth: our ancestors dreamed boldly and labored relentlessly, believing God for more than survival. When Focus meets diligence, purpose stops being theory and starts becoming legacy. Let today remind every generation that dreams grow when we nurture them with discipline, courage, and hope.
