No doubt about it! God is good—good to good people, good to the good-hearted. But I nearly missed it, missed seeing his goodness. I was looking the other way, looking up to the people.
Psalm 73:1-3 (MSG)
Asaph keeps it real—he almost slipped because he was too busy watching everybody else shine. The Hidden Manna here is that comparison doesn’t just distract you; it dims you. God already put a light in you that doesn’t need validation, competition, or applause to glow. Shine means bringing your full self to the table, even when it feels like others are getting ahead or getting praised for doing less. The moment Asaph stopped looking outward and started looking upward, clarity hit him—God’s goodness was still on him the whole time. Today, don’t let envy drain the sparkle God put inside you. Lift your head, fix your eyes on the One who made you, and walk in your own lane knowing you’ve got a shine that can’t be duplicated, dimmed, or denied.
