Sell everything and buy Wisdom! Forage for Understanding! Don’t forget one word! Don’t deviate an inch! Never walk away from Wisdom—she guards your life; love her—she keeps her eye on you. Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom! Write this at the top of your list: Get Understanding! Throw your arms around her—believe me, you won’t regret it; never let her go—she’ll make your life glorious. She’ll garland your life with grace, she’ll festoon your days with beauty.”
Proverbs 4:5-9 (MSG)
As we celebrate the rich history of Black people, specifically this month, know that our community's strength, resilience, and hope are found and understood in and through our ancestors, our journey, and what is our expected end. If we are to honor who we are and the greatest of our people established by God, we must educate ourselves about ourselves, to Know Thyself, as Dr. Na’im Arkbar suggests. In knowing who you are, you are more confident and well-equipped to navigate life as it is, going through the Dis-covering Process to discern your Hidden Manna. The powerful strength of our ancestors who endured on our behalf has left us the wisdom of their experiences for us to educate ourselves so that we navigate our present realities with resilience that will transport us to our promises for life and life more abundantly, our greatest and premier place in the world. This lesson learned from the greatness of Blackness and Black people should be applied to all of our everyday walking around lives, learning from our past to inform our present so that we fully engage the Dis-covering Process to our Hidden Manna.
