I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exodus 20:2-5
God begins His commandments by reminding Israel of His saving power, then calls them to live with undivided devotion. Intentionality here means examining your heart daily to ensure that nothing—no possession, relationship, or ambition—takes the place of God. In this devotion lies Hidden Manna, the sustaining provision that flows when you worship Him alone and refuse to serve lesser gods. Idols may not always be carved images; they can be distractions or misplaced priorities that quietly draw our loyalty away from Him. By choosing to honor God first, you open your life to His guidance, peace, and strength. His deliverance from bondage is both a past victory and a present reminder that only He deserves your worship. Today, be deliberate in putting God first, and let His hidden provision fill every space that lesser gods could never satisfy.
