Sermon Series: For Your Assignment
Sermon Title: “VISION” PT I
Scripture: Revelation 21:1–3
1. OPEN TO THE UNPREDICTABLE
(Based on v.1: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth…")
🌱 What it Means:
Life with God often means letting go of what’s familiar so He can make room for something new. Even the “first heaven and earth” passed away—change is part of the divine plan.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: Be willing to release your expectations. God’s plan may surprise you, but it will grow you. Don’t be afraid to dream differently.
Adults: When routines break or life takes a turn, don't panic—this may be God clearing space for your next chapter.
Non-Believers: Sometimes life forces change on us. The invitation is to trust that something better can come from letting go.
2. OPEN TO THE PROCESS
(Based on v.2: “…prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”)
🌱 What it Means:
Vision doesn’t arrive overnight. God is preparing something beautiful in you. Like a bride’s preparation, it takes intentional time, effort, and care.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: Trust the slow build—everything doesn’t have to happen now. Stay faithful in small things.
Adults: God is not finished with you. Don’t compare your journey to others. Stay open to being shaped and refined.
Non-Believers: Even if you don’t see results yet, know that growth is happening behind the scenes. Consider giving God a chance to work with you.
3. OPEN TO HEAR AND WALK WITH GOD
(Based on v.3: “...the tabernacle of God is with men... and be their God.”)
🌱 What it Means:
God is no longer distant. He wants relationship, not religion. He wants to live with us and walk with us.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: God wants to talk to you personally. Prayer, music, journaling—find your rhythm of conversation with Him.
Adults: Make space in your day to hear from God. Listening leads to clarity for your assignment.
Non-Believers: God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect. He wants to be with you now, as you are.
