Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the LORD, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:1-5
On this Juneteenth, as we remember the journey from bondage to freedom, we also anchor ourselves in the spiritual freedom God offers as we are Seeking, Knocking, and Asking with trust. Psalm 37 reminds us not to be shaken by injustice or discouraged by delay, because God sees, God remembers, and God acts in His time. For those who seek Him with open hearts, He provides Hidden Manna—peace in the midst of struggle, strength to endure, and hope that will not be cut off. In both history and our personal lives, God invites us to delight in Him, to keep asking for what is right, and to trust that He will bring it to pass. The freedom we celebrate today is both a historical milestone and a spiritual reminder that God is always at work, liberating hearts and guiding steps. As we commit our way to the Lord, He leads us with purpose and feeds us with provision that may be unseen, but never lacking. Today, seek Him boldly and trust that the God who brought freedom before is still working miracles now.
