And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Revelation 21:1-7
Because God chooses us, we must choose Him to reap the benefit of overcoming whatever exists in our lives to separate us from His promised life and life more abundantly. Overcoming is not some theoretical practice alone, inclusive is the practical, the going through your challenges and navigating them to the place where you exercise authority over your challenges. Thus, the process of overcoming is daunting and sometimes makes you feel all alone, but that is built into the purpose and plan of your challenge, for when you feel like you are alone, the revelation that God Is With You is made real, flesh in your life. The coming of Christ came when it appeared that God was not present and as a result, the Messiah, the Sent One came and in so doing caused people to focus on the root, on the fact that God had chosen them, they had a Most Favored Status and thus, is with them. Therefore, despite the reality of all of our experiences, with “dis-ease,” poverty, captivity, etc. our Most Favored Status did not change, we changed, thus our call, reminder to return to their root, to God, His Word for our lives and overcome to inherit all things because it is done.
