Sermon Title: STRATEGY PT II
Scripture: Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)Verse: “A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.”
1. PERIPHERAL VISION
(v.9 – “A man’s heart deviseth his way…”)
👀 What it Means:
Peripheral vision is what you see outside your direct focus. Spiritually, this means being aware of what’s happening around you—not just your own goals. True strategy includes what’s happening on the margins.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: Stay focused on your dreams, but pay attention to what’s going on around you. God may be showing you opportunities, warnings, or people to help.
Adults: Don’t get tunnel vision. Be sensitive to what God is doing beyond your immediate plans—He may be opening unexpected doors.
Non-Believers: Sometimes life brings clues or signals we weren’t focused on. Consider: What if those things are God trying to get your attention?
2. PREDISPOSED DISCERNMENT
(v.9 – “...but the Lord directeth his steps.”)
🧠 What it Means:
Some people are wired to sense what’s really going on beneath the surface. This spiritual insight—discernment—isn’t just for reacting; it’s a God-given tool for direction and protection.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: Trust your gut, but test it with prayer. God may be sharpening your sense of right and wrong for a purpose.
Adults: Wisdom doesn’t come overnight. But your life experience, paired with God’s Spirit, gives you the edge to see what others miss.
Non-Believers: Ever had a feeling something was off—or right—and it turned out to be true? That might be more than instinct. God could be helping you discern the truth.
3. POSITION ACCURACY
(v.9 – “...but the Lord directeth his steps.”)
📍 What it Means:
It’s not enough to move—you need to be in the right place. God’s strategy includes precision: where you are matters. Like GPS, you can be off by just a little and still miss the mark. God brings alignment.
🛠️ Practical Application:
Young People: It’s not just about “getting there”—make sure you’re where God wants you now. Stay rooted in the right environment.
Adults: Location matters. Relationally, emotionally, spiritually—ask: Am I where I’m supposed to be? Let God recalibrate if needed.
Non-Believers: If you’ve felt “off” or out of place, maybe it’s because you’re not walking the path God designed for you. Let Him guide your steps more precisely.
🔑 CORE MESSAGE:
God doesn’t just bless the plan—He builds the strategy. To move with Him, we need awareness (peripheral vision), wisdom (discernment), and alignment (positional accuracy). Strategy in faith means letting God fine-tune both your vision and your steps.
You may have a path in mind, but only the Lord can place you where you're truly meant to be.
