Series: REVIVAL
“OUT OF YOUR BELLY” – PT II
John 7:37-39 (KJV)
Year Theme: HIGH AND LIFTED UP
BIG IDEA (For Everyone)
God did not create you just to survive life—He created you to flow with purpose, power, and spiritual fullness.
Jesus stands at the Feast and declares:“If you’re thirsty… come drink.”
And then He says something revolutionary:
“Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
Not a puddle.Not a drip.Not barely enough.
But rivers.
Revival happens when what God pours into you finally begins flowing through you.
1. LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP (v.37)
What’s Happening
Jesus invites thirsty people to come to Him and drink.
Thirst is an invitation to go deeper.
The Feast of Tabernacles celebrated God sustaining Israel in fragile places during the wilderness journey.
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
You cannot experience deep transformation while living spiritually shallow.
Practical Application
Christian: Move beyond surface-level faith and pursue deeper relationship with God.
Non-Christian: Real growth starts when you acknowledge you need more than what the world offers.
Gen Z / Millennials: Stop confusing distraction with fulfillment.
Professionals: Constant achievement without inner depth leads to burnout.
Families: Healthy homes require emotional and spiritual depth, not just routine.
Black Community Word: Our ancestors survived because they trusted God in deep waters—through oppression, uncertainty, and struggle.
This Week: Step deeper into something life-giving—prayer, worship, healing, study, therapy, purpose, or community.
2. LIVE IN WHAT IS YOUR PROMISE (v.38)
What’s Happening
Jesus says believers will have rivers of living water flowing from within them.
God’s promise is not external only—it becomes internal.
The promise becomes part of how you live.
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
Stop living beneath what God placed inside you.
Practical Application
Christian: Walk confidently in what God has spoken over your life.
Non-Christian: Don’t minimize your potential because of past failures or present struggles.
Gen Z Word: You are more than algorithms, labels, trauma, or trends.
Professionals: Your purpose is bigger than just productivity.
Families: Speak life, vision, and possibility over one another.
Black Community Word: We are descendants of dreamers, builders, survivors, innovators, and worshippers. There is greatness flowing through our story.
This Week: Speak one promise over yourself daily instead of rehearsing negativity.
3. LOCATE YOUR SWEET SPOT (v.39)
What’s Happening
Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit empowers people to live connected, purposeful, and aligned with God.
Your “sweet spot” is where:
your gifts
your purpose
your passion
and God’s presence
meet together.
Cliff Note (Plain Talk)
You flow best when you live aligned with who God created you to be.
Practical Application
Christian: Stay sensitive to the Spirit’s leading.
Non-Christian: Pay attention to what brings life, purpose, and healthy alignment.
Gen Z / Millennials: Stop trying to fit into spaces that drain who you are.
Professionals: Success feels different when it aligns with purpose.
Families: Help each other discover gifts instead of only correcting flaws.
Black Community Word: Our communities flourish when people discover and operate in their God-given purpose.
This Week: Identify where you feel most alive, purposeful, and impactful—and invest in it intentionally.
BIG PICTURE TRUTH
Revival is not just emotional excitement.
It is:
going deeper
living in God’s promises
and flowing in divine purpose
Because rivers are meant to move.
