Text: 1 John 5:13–15 (MSG)General Theme: Hidden MannaFollows: Get Over Yourself and Become Pt. I & II
💡 BIG IDEA:
God has made powerful promises available to us—not through tricks or formulas, but through faith, alignment, and confidence in prayer. If you want what God has willed for your life, you must be willing to release what’s already in you.
🔑 SERMON POINTS & PRACTICAL APPLICATION
1. RELEASE YOUR FAITH (v.13)
“That you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life...”
Explanation:You don’t have to wish for life—you can know you have it. The writer’s goal is clarity: if you believe in Jesus, then eternal life is already yours. You don’t have to chase it, prove it, or earn it.
Practical Takeaway:
Young people: Your value and future aren’t up for debate. Let your faith set the tone for how you walk into school, career, or life goals.
Adults: Stop living like you're unsure of your place in God's plan. Claim it. Own it. Live like it's real.
Everyone: Releasing faith means refusing to live in fear or doubt when God has already spoken truth over your life.
2. RELEASE YOUR GIFT (v.14)
“How bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will...”
Explanation:When you know who you are and whose you are, you don’t hold back. You can bring your desires, dreams, and gifts to God and boldly step into purpose. Alignment with God’s will isn’t about restriction—it’s about release.
Practical Takeaway:
Students and creatives: Use your voice. Use your vision. Don’t wait for permission—God already gave it.
Adults and leaders: You’ve been gifted for more than just survival. What’s been sitting dormant? It’s time to activate it.
Everyone: The gifts God gave you are meant to serve, build, and transform your life and the lives of others. Pray boldly, then move boldly.
3. RELEASE YOUR FAVOR (v.15)
“If we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours.”
Explanation:Confidence in prayer releases God’s favor into your reality. When you trust that He hears, you begin living like the answer is already working its way toward you. Favor isn’t luck—it’s alignment with God’s listening ear.
Practical Takeaway:
Young people: Walk in the room like you’ve already been accepted. Speak like you’ve already been heard.
Adults: Stop shrinking your expectations. God listens, and favor flows where faith is firm.
Everyone: Don’t pray and then worry. Pray and then move like it’s yours. That’s how favor is activated.
🪞KEY CONCEPTS:
Faith: The foundation that settles your identity and inheritance.
Gift: What God placed inside you for this season and beyond.
Favor: The flow of God’s goodness activated by faith-filled, confident prayer.
🏁 FINAL REFLECTION:
God isn’t holding back your breakthrough. Often, what’s missing is our release—of faith, of gift, and of boldness.
So the next time you pray, don’t beg—believe. Don’t hesitate—move.
Because if you want it, and it’s in His will—it is already yours.
🧠 Reflect This Week:
What’s one area where I need to release faith instead of fear?
What gift in me have I been holding back that needs to be shared?
Am I living like someone who’s confident that God hears me?
