Sermon Series: For Your Assignment

Sermon Title: "VISION PT II"

Scripture: Revelation 21:1–3 (KJV)

1. YOU MUST SEE BIGGER THAN YOUR SPACE

(v.1: “I saw a new heaven and a new earth...")

🌍 What it Means:

God’s vision is never confined to your current conditions. When John sees a new heaven and earth, it signals that what is now isn’t all there is. God is making room for more.

🛠️ Practical Application:

  • Young People: Your neighborhood, your school, your background—none of these limit what God can do through you. Dream beyond what you see.

  • Adults: Don’t let age, income, or past disappointments shrink your faith. God is calling you to expand your spiritual and personal territory.

  • Non-Believers: Your current situation isn’t the end of your story. God can offer a vision that brings purpose and peace even now.

2. YOU MUST SEE TRANSFORMATION OF WHO YOU ARE

(v.2: “...prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”)

🦋 What it Means:

God’s vision transforms identity. Just like the city is described as beautifully prepared, your life in God is not about perfection but preparation and change from the inside out.

🛠️ Practical Application:

  • Young People: You don’t have to have it all together. God is still shaping your character, your confidence, and your calling.

  • Adults: Don’t resist the change. What you’re going through may be preparing you for something greater than you've imagined.

  • Non-Believers: God doesn’t require perfection. He invites you as you are and transforms you through love and grace.

3. YOU MUST SEE GOD WITH YOU

(v.3: “...the tabernacle of God is with men…”)

🤝 What it Means:

God is not far off—He’s close. The final vision John sees is of God dwelling with His people. That nearness is possible right now through Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

🛠️ Practical Application:

  • Young People: You're never alone. Talk to God like a friend who walks with you every day.

  • Adults: Begin and end each day acknowledging God's presence. It will strengthen your focus and faith.

  • Non-Believers: If you feel isolated or distant from purpose, know this: God wants to dwell with you—not judge you, but join you.

🔑 BIG TAKEAWAY:

A God-sized vision means seeing past where you are, believing in who you can become, and trusting that God is already near.

This is not just about seeing heaven later—it’s about living in God's new creation now.
