Series Theme: Looking In All The Wrong Places
“Who You Looking For... I Am the Resurrection” PT II
Text: John 20:13–16; 11:25–26 (TPT)
BIG IDEA:
In life, we often search for peace, meaning, and value in all the wrong places. Jesus shows up to remind us:➡️ You don't have to settle.➡️ You don't have to stay stuck in grief.➡️ You don't have to doubt your worth. He is your answer — He is the Resurrection and the Life.
1️⃣ SOMEBODY/THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM SETTLING FOR LESS
(John 20:13–14)
Key Thought:Mary thought her story was over. She believed death had won. But Jesus was already alive — standing right in front of her, offering a new future.
Life Lesson:Sometimes, we settle for broken dreams, disappointment, or "good enough" — because we don’t realize God is offering something greater, something alive.
Practical Application:
Don’t settle. Just because something looks finished doesn't mean God is done.
Lift your eyes. Like Mary, you might be so focused on your pain that you miss the miracle standing right in front of you.
Pray daily: “God, open my eyes to what You’re doing beyond what I can see.”
2️⃣ SOMEBODY/THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM GRIEVING FOR WHAT'S DEAD
(John 20:15–16)
Key Thought:When Jesus called Mary’s name, her tears turned into recognition and joy. Grief had kept her stuck, but His voice pulled her forward.
Life Lesson:God knows your pain — but He calls you forward into new life. You don't have to keep living in what died.
Practical Application:
Let Jesus interrupt your grief. He still calls your name. Healing begins when you recognize Him.
Make room for joy. It's okay to mourn, but don't pitch your tent there.
Reflect daily: “What new life is God calling me to notice and step into today?”
3️⃣ SOMEBODY/THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM DOUBTING YOUR POTENTIAL
(John 11:25–26)
Key Thought:Jesus didn’t just promise life in the future — He said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life” right now. Your value, your future, your strength, and your purpose are alive today through Him.
Life Lesson:Your worth is not determined by your mistakes, your past, or even your current struggles. It’s determined by the One who gave you life and called you His own.
Practical Application:
Believe what God says about you. You are more than your circumstances.
Live like you matter. Because you do — right now, not "one day."
Declare daily: “I have value and purpose because Jesus is my life.”
📝 Simple Daily Practice:
Morning: Pray, “Jesus, don’t let me settle for less than Your promise.”
Midday: Listen for His voice calling you toward life, not death.
Evening: Thank God for one sign of life you saw in your day.
🔥 Final Encouragement:
When you know Who to look for — not just what —you’ll stop looking in the wrong places for your peace, your joy, and your purpose.Jesus is alive. You are alive. And your future is alive too. 🌟
