DAILY MEDITATION

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,

to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 9:6-7

The peace of the Lord is found in the assurance and confidence in His promises for our lives. Peace is defined as harmony with the will of God, it is not the absence of conflict. Peace is saying that despite and in spite of any and all things God’s will is and will be manifested in my life. By no means do I suggest that having the peace of God is without the sufferings of life, it is despite and in spite of the suffering we have the assurance and confidence that it will work out for our good. In the midst of Roman domination and the desire for the fulfillment of God’s promises in their lives, the children God looked for a Messiah, their King and God provided. The fulfillment may tarry but wait, keep believing and working toward, on it, it will come to pass, that is having peace and a peace that surpasses all understanding. And we know that His thoughts toward us are not to hurt or to harm us but to prosper us and get us to our expected end, Transforming Spaces, equipping us to Occupy Our Promise.
