And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers. And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother. And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

II Kings 4:18-21

God manifests Himself in many different ways in order to meet our need in order that we are made whole. The story of the widow who was kind to the prophet received a son and when he was ill, he went to His father and the father sent him to his mother, who nursed him even in and through death. The story is not complete at death but is the catalyst for an extreme faith, belief that allows one, particularly a mother to believe beyond death for life. God’s character is like unto a mother and we all can account for God having Mothered us and mothers us beyond what appears to be death experiences so that we would rise again, have life. Every time we consider the cross we must also consider resurrection, God seeing us through the difficulty even unto death, and raising us up again to reconcile us, make us one, bring us into alignment with His promise of life and life more abundantly, a Most Favored Status.
