If there is anything I have learned from my mother, my grandmother, and the women in my community is that they have found a way to make a way out of no way. When everything seems hopeless and unbearable, our mothers somehow press their way through to a space that best serves their family, even if that is temporary with a long-term goal. Therefore, when I think of Mother and how I have been Mothered, I see the reflection of God who has Mothered us through life, ensuring that all things work together for the good. How God has Mothered us in the midst of life’s difficulties, He has proven Himself to love us, despite and in spite of our un-lovability at times, and shown His ability to shed a spotlight on a path for us in which we eventually overcome and inherit all things. Thank God that God too is our Mother and as we look back over our lives and see how He has Mothered us through the vicissitudes of life, we are blatantly reminded that He sees us in a Most Favored Status.
