SPRING FORTH NOW

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:20-23

The move toward flourishing is very much a heart thing. The heartfelt passionate confidence in life and life abundantly promised is the fuel that moves you forward and upward through the challenges and adversities of life. That which you believe should be must be seen by you, despite and in spite of what is, in order to endure your circumstances. Your ability to see in your spirit influences your thought life that translates into actions to achieve your desired outcome and that can only begin in the heart. The passion of your heart allows you to see that which should be, producing in-sight in your circumstances, leading to opportunities and possibilities, hope. As I watched the final homegoing of George Floyd, I was renewed. Amid my anger and frustration with structural and systematic racism which brought about George Floyd’s death, on display was our, Black people’s, unique and cultural ability to transform death into the celebration of life. Although many shared in the grief, the celebration of George Floyd’s life was interwoven with the celebration of who we are as Black people, uniting us globally, even at the intersection of our differences, often used by others to divide and conqueror and/or make us like them. The passion of our heart, individually and collectively, united and called us back to one another and our community to see possibilities and opportunities to live. Our faith, the substance of what we hope for and the evidence of that not seen, across geographic boundaries, religious and non-religious declarations, economic and social statuses, as well as sexual orientations - we were Black first, promoted our ability to see possibilities and opportunities to flourish, even in death. I am not sure any other community can do it like we can. “We” must value “our” uniqueness and leverage it to “our” advantage, it has and is our power to Receive, amid our challenges and adversities, vision fueled by our heartfelt passion to overcome. Attend to your heart and allow the issues of your heart to flow, God hears and gives His Spirit to show you the pathway of life where there is the fullness of joy and at HIs right hand pleasures for evermore. God has placed before you life and death Catch The Wind of God’s Spirit and Receive, choose life, opportunities and possibilities toward your pathway of life even in death!
