For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:13

We have the power of free will; the ability to make choices for our lives and with the power to choose also comes responsibility and accountability for your choices. We cannot choose something and then blame someone else for the consequences. Whatever choice we make we accept the responsibility and accountability for the consequences, although there may be people, places, and things as a catalyst for our consequences, nevertheless, because of free will, we own them and how we respond to them. Therefore, because God has Set Apart our lives for His purposes we do not have to make choices alone or under our own limited knowledge, we can rely on the Creator God, who knew and knows all things, to provide us direction and guidance in that which will bring us life and life more abundantly, sharing the responsibility and accountability for our consequences. Walk not by the flesh; your own limitations, but instead by the Spirit of God for which God freely gives, walking in a Most Favored Status ensuring that your consequences, which are shared with the Creator God, bring about your abundant life.
