SPRING FORTH NOW - DAILY MEDITATION

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Matthew 13:31-32

The seed you plant, although it may appear insignificant, can grow into a prominent and influential figure in which people, places, and things may rest. Therefore, we must be intentional about what we plant that develops and grows into something rooted in good soil, truth, which will contribute to that which will flourish and not that which will contain, marginalize or oppress; stunting the potential to be fruitful and multiply for the good. Remember, if you build something on momentary satisfaction without thought to long-term transformation, you will only yield short-term change. A Chinese proverbs says, “If your vision is for a year, plant wheat. If your vision is for ten years, plant trees. If your vision is for a lifetime, plant people.” The planting of people whose overall contribution to the world was hate borne out of their actions of containment, marginalization, and oppression grows and provides a resting place for a multifaceted range of hate toward people, places, and things for a lifetime. The lessons learned from our lived experiences demands that we ensure what we plant, what we put up as truth is enduring and transcends the now, building toward a long-term transformation of what is to what should be; the flourishing of humanity. Jesus proclaims that the kingdom of heaven is like unto a mustard seed, the least of seeds, when planted grows into a great tree and as a result becomes a resting place for birds to lodge. Be careful that as you go about your life, as we advance our struggle, as we reclaim our Blackness that the seeds we sow and/or allow to be sowed, though they may appear insignificant at the time, yield a harvest of our desire for on it shall future generations as well as external forces rest upon. Receive your power of self-determination and Catch The Wind of God’s Spirit within, your intrinsic value, and plant for a harvest of transformation, lifetime.
