SPRING FORTH NOW - DAILY MEDITATION

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

I Kings 17:10-16

Fear is a powerful tool that blocks our aspirations for flourishing. Fear invades our thought life, defeating us in our mind, so as to steal, kill, and destroy the process of reimagining our circumstances which will produce outcomes promoting our ability to flourish, despite and in spite of what we face. Taking control of your thought life is a direct result of your ability to believe in your heart, have faith, that you have been created to flourish, and thus possess and/or have access to what is necessary for your flourishing. Your faith must become the framework in which you fortify yourself from fear, pressing your way to reframe your circumstances in terms of what is the outcome desired and reassess your value; that which you have that makes it possible to flourish in your impossibilities. Taking inventory of your life and what you have is the starting point, not the ending, to reset your thought life so as to reimagine yourself in your circumstances flourishing. We, in our Blackness, must view our circumstances from a lens in which we realize the power of who we are, historically and contemporaneously, evidenced by our lived experiences in which we have faced and/or facing insurmountable odds and yet we have survived and in most circumstances thrived. Our lived experiences must serve as a foundation for our engaging the circumstances of our life, no matter how difficult and complex they appear, remembering we have been here before and yet we overcame not by power or might but by the spirit of who we are. The prophet Elijah, speaking to a widow woman, in the midst of a famine, while she was gathering twigs so she could take the last of her meal and oil to bake a cake for her and her son and then die, challenged her to fear not, to reimagine a different outcome by the sharing of what she has. As the widow woman believed and acted upon her belief, reimagining her outcome by reframing her situation and reassessing what she has from a position of faith, she, her son, and the prophet Elijah ate many days and what she had flourished. Faith is not about what is but that which you believe should be. Allow your faith to impress upon your mind the Spirit of truth of what should be, your flourishing, which transforms your thought life, positioning you to Catch The Wind of God’s Spirit of abundance therefore, Receive your abundance, promised command to be fruitful and multiply, flourish!
