And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Injustice has a way of cutting at the heart of not only our faith but also of our spirit. We have been told as a badge of honor, the very thing that sets us a part as the leader of democracy in the world that “we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” A noted clinician suggests that happiness is owning what you have. However, If I evaluate what I have, as a very proud man of the African diaspora, in my flesh it appears that I have nothing, however, it is not true, it is only a deception, I have everything, I have to choose; experience, encounter, and engage life head on, including the injustices of life!. The record of life in America and many parts of the world, it appears that my life has no value - Almaud, I am murdered, if not lynched in the streets, not in a time gone by but in the here and now. And that is just the tip of the iceberg, I can’t shop or walk down a street, play my music in my car, eat skittles in the dark, engage in street entrepreneurial-ship, and the list goes on and on without finding myself in perilous situations that can cost me my life and freedom and the record is I have unalienable rights from the Creator, so says the documents and the creed of America. It is deceptive and cutting to my faith and spirit for that is not the record of my experiences, encounters, or engagements. You can dress up in liberalism, democracy, evangelism and all the other wolves in sheep clothing that the world or flesh may offer to appease and use me. I have got to find the strength of the Creator Spirit within me to justify and strengthen me to live as He has intended. The record is that my trust is not in horses or chariots but in the name of the Lord. The record, the testimony is that every time I sought to experience, encounter, and engage life as you define it or you wish for me and others to assimilate in fails, and causes grief. Thanks be unto God that I can grieve, be aware, know but it is with hope that the testimony, exercising a Spirit of expectancy, promise, witness of experiences, encounters, engagements with all things that attempts to destroy me in which I will arise. Although I may appear to be a grasshopper in the midst of giants, I am more than able to possess that which is God’s promise and I remember giants do fall. Thus, as I Catch The Wind of God’s Spirit I experience, encounter, and engage the promises of God in and through all systems and structures and possess life for my hope is not in systems and structures, they are to be overcome through direct experiences, encounters, and engagements that bring about life. The more I have the Son, life, the One whom God called out of Egypt, the One whose feet are as polished brass and hair like lamb's wool, I will have life and have it more abundantly. On this Mother’s Day to our Mothers, those who have experienced, encountered and engaged injustice just because of the wonderful and meticulously melon in our skin, which denotes our African-ness, lift up your heads and the King of glory, the King of life will come in, He is the Lord strong and mighty, mighty in battle, He is the King!
