DAILY MEDITATION

October 30, 2018

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.  Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,  And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Acts 4:32-35

The commonality of our experiences should cause us to be one with all.  When we look at the circumstances of our lives we find that they are really not that different from one another.  Yet we , in our present society, seeks to make difference as the other.  Making the otherness of people creates a fear that’s runs deep within us causing us to be and do that which is contrary to community.  To counteract the contrast created by our view of “others” we must allow the Spirit of God to trigger the process of Transformational Living.  Transformational Living begins within creating a heart of God that makes our being and doing like God.  For God so loved the world that Her grave His only begotten Son, our example of what it is to be community.  The Church, God’s living and visible presence in the world must model who He is and what He has declared for the promises of life and life more abundantly for all.  As we order our community from the heart of God that transforms our being and doing we become nurturers of all of God’s creation, worshiping God for who He is as manifested through the diversity and beauty of all His creation. The early church understood God’s beauty in all people, places, and things, and thus modeled and begin the process s of converting themselves from individuals to a community, all in one place and on one accord and then came the rush of the might wind, the power of the Holy Ghost positioning them to Occupy Their Promise.
